Job Description

UNICEF Haiti seeks an Education Officer to advance equitable, inclusive education for children across development, humanitarian and nexus settings. Based in Port-au-Prince, the officer will support programme planning, implementation and monitoring; strengthen partnerships; use evidence to inform decisions; and contribute to coordination, reporting and learning opportunities in complex emergencies.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support programme development and planning in development, nexus and emergency contexts
  • Manage education programmes, monitor implementation and support delivery of results
  • Provide technical and operational support to programme implementation
  • Build networks and partnerships with government and implementing partners
  • Contribute to innovation, knowledge management and capacity building

Role Requirements

  • Completed first-level university degree in Education, International Development, Social Sciences, Programme Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, or another relevant technical field
  • At least two years of relevant professional experience in education programme planning, implementation, monitoring, partnership management, data analysis and/or reporting
  • Experience in Education in Emergencies, including planning, implementation and monitoring of education responses in humanitarian settings
  • Proficiency in French and intermediate level of English

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in programme development and planning
  • Ability to apply Results-Based Management principles to programme planning, monitoring and reporting
  • Knowledge of Haitian Creole and another official UN language is an asset
  • Experience working with government counterparts and implementing partners is highly desirable
