Job Description

Provides technical, operational and administrative support across the Solomon Islands education and early childhood development programme, from planning through delivery and results reporting. The post strengthens programme design, implementation monitoring, education evidence, partnerships and capacity building to improve equitable learning and access across the Pacific.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support education and early childhood development programme planning
  • Manage programme implementation, monitoring and delivery of results
  • Generate education data, research and evidence
  • Provide technical and operational support to programme implementation
  • Build networks and partnerships
  • Advance innovation, knowledge management and capacity building

Role Requirements

  • University degree in education, social sciences, public policy, international development, statistics or data management, psychology, sociology or another relevant area
  • At least 2 years of professional experience in programme planning, implementation, community engagement, management, monitoring or research in education or a related field
  • Proficiency in English
  • Willingness to travel to provinces and remote locations within Solomon Islands

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in early childhood education, digital learning, education in emergencies or climate-resilient education
  • Experience with education data, research, information systems, statistics, assessments or data use
  • Experience working with government education counterparts or national coordination mechanisms
  • Experience in a UN agency or Pacific regional organisation
  • Relevant country-level experience in development, fragile settings or humanitarian contexts
