Job Description

UNESCO seeks a National Technical Assistant in Yaoundé to support education projects and programmes for its Central Africa Regional Office. The SC-9 service-contract role coordinates implementation and partner agreements, supports monitoring and reporting, develops education-sector workplans, advances SDG 4 knowledge sharing, and prepares evidence-based concept notes for resource mobilisation.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support planning, coordination and implementation of education projects and programmes
  • Monitor project activities, partnership agreements, contracts and funds
  • Support field monitoring and evaluation and enter progress reports in UNESCO systems
  • Prepare education-sector workplans, technical reports and strategic documents
  • Share knowledge and lessons learned supporting Sustainable Development Goal 4
  • Prepare evidence-based concept notes to support resource mobilisation

Role Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent in education, social sciences, project management or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience designing, implementing or monitoring education-sector projects and programmes
  • Fluency in French or English
  • Knowledge of Cameroon's education sector and education-project planning and monitoring
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Desired Criteria

  • Experience on basic-education issues
  • Experience with UN agencies, education ministries or international organisations
  • Experience with UN education mechanisms
