Job Description
Applies data science to help peacekeeping operations monitor, analyse and respond to mis-, dis- and malinformation and hate speech. The role develops analytical and technology solutions, turns complex organisational and digital-media data into practical insights, and works with internal and external stakeholders to improve programme decisions, advocacy, model performance and information integrity.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Analyse large and complex datasets using appropriate techniques and platforms
- Prepare reports and visualisations that communicate trends and patterns
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with United Nations privacy regulations and best practices
- Identify data opportunities with organisational stakeholders and external technology providers, civil society, international organisations and Member States
- Analyse organisational databases to improve programme development, advocacy and business strategies
- Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of data sources and collection techniques
- Develop technology solutions to monitor and analyse the digital information environment
- Build testing frameworks, implement models and monitor model outcomes, performance and data accuracy
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in data science, computer science, information management, statistics, public administration, public information, management or a related field, or a first-level degree with qualifying experience
- At least five years of experience in data science, data analytics, applied mathematics, information management or a related area
- Experience developing technology solutions for analysing the digital and analogue information environment
- English is required

- Experience conducting data analysis of digital-media datasets
- Experience using data to advance decisions, strategies and execution
