Responsibilities
- Guide policy and strategy on improvised-explosive-device and explosive-ordnance threat mitigation
- Lead advisory, training and capacity-development programmes and assure technical quality
- Manage the section's work programme, staff, budgets, performance and administrative processes
- Build Member State and donor partnerships, mobilize resources and report on expenditure
- Prepare policy, programme and budget reports for intergovernmental and decision-making bodies
- Represent the UN at technical forums and provide expertise on explosive threats and weapons management
Requirements
- An advanced relevant university degree, or a first degree with qualifying experience
- Recognized national qualification as an explosive-ordnance-disposal officer and improvised-explosive-device-disposal technician certification
- At least ten years of progressively responsible programme administration or management experience
- At least seven years of post-blast investigation experience
- At least two years in a UN peace operation or similar international field organization
- English at UN Level III
