Overview
Manages UNESCO’s peacebuilding-through-religious-education project in Somalia. The officer oversees delivery, partners, procurement, contracts, budgets, monitoring and reporting; coordinates government, UNICEF and donors; shares results; and provides technical support on inclusive early-childhood Quranic education.

Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day project implementation and quality
- Update workplans and support overall project management
- Plan procurement and monitor contracts, providers and disbursements
- Coordinate government, UNICEF, donors and development partners
- Monitor budgets, progress, results and evaluation activities
- Prepare meeting records, donor reports and action plans
- Disseminate results through workshops, webinars and publications
- Provide policy advice and technical assistance on education and peacebuilding
- Mobilise UNESCO expertise and share international good practice
Requirements
- Master’s degree in education, social sciences, peace studies or a closely related field
- At least five years of progressively responsible experience in technical assistance and project management in education, teacher training or skills development
- Experience supporting government education or training reform
- Fluent English
- Fluent Somali
