Education Project Manager

Leads UNESCO’s system-capacity education grant for Yemen, coordinating workplans, ministries, donors and partner groups, monitoring results and reporting, and supporting emergency-education, data and governance activities that strengthen sector planning, coordination and recovery.

Department: Education Sector, Regional Office for the Gulf States and Yemen

• Coordinate project workplans, timelines, deliverables and implementation follow-up
• Engage Yemen education authorities, donors, United Nations agencies and partner coordination groups
• Monitor results, indicators and reporting requirements and consolidate donor reports
• Prepare briefs, presentations, technical updates and project records
• Coordinate internal technical, administrative, logistics, procurement and budget inputs
• Support education-in-emergencies activities, knowledge exchange and advocacy
• Undertake missions and provide field-level project coordination when cleared

• Advanced university degree in international development, social science, education, management or a related field
• At least five years of relevant experience in education programmes, education in emergencies, sector coordination, project coordination or international development
• At least two years of international or regional professional experience
• Experience with education programmes in Arab countries
• Experience coordinating projects with ministries and development partners
• Excellent knowledge of English and Arabic

• On-site UNESCO Service Contract supporting education programming in Yemen
• The position includes project missions subject to security clearance
