Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, monitor and evaluate the Legislative Assistance Programme
- Advise on international nuclear legal instruments, safety standards and security guidance
- Review and support drafting of national nuclear legislation
- Develop country assistance workplans with Member State officials
- Prepare legal studies, briefs, opinions and recommendations
- Organize and teach nuclear-law seminars, workshops and courses
- Represent the Office of Legal Affairs on missions and at events
- Lead, train and mentor staff delivering legislative assistance
Requirements
- Juris Doctor, advanced law degree or equivalent higher degree
- Admission to a national bar or equivalent
- At least seven years of relevant experience, including several years internationally
- Proven national nuclear-legislation drafting and review ability
- Experience interpreting and applying international legal instruments, particularly in nuclear law
- Excellent written and spoken English
