Responsibilities
- Plan, manage and supervise the Nuclear Power Engineering Section’s programme and staff
- Guide Member State support for plant operation, long-term operation, maintenance and performance improvement
- Coordinate technical support for new nuclear-power programmes, construction, commissioning and infrastructure development
- Provide specialised technical input and workplans for technical-cooperation projects
- Organise scientific meetings, training courses and workshops and oversee technical publications
- Coordinate international collaborative projects and promote exchange of nuclear-engineering experience
- Represent the IAEA in scientific forums and maintain partnerships with institutes and international organisations
- Advise the Division Director on programmatic, scientific, technical and administrative matters
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in nuclear engineering, engineering or a related technical discipline, or a bachelor’s degree with two additional years of relevant experience
- At least ten years of relevant professional experience in nuclear power engineering
- Project management experience covering design, monitoring and implementation
- Experience managing human and financial resources
- Knowledge and technical experience in safety practices and standards
- Excellent oral and written command of English

Additional info
- Fixed-term regular appointment for 36 months with a one-year probation period
- Professional staff are subject to the IAEA rotation policy and a normal maximum seven-year tour
