Leads the IAEA’s stakeholder-engagement response for nuclear power programmes, designing communication and outreach support for Member States, coordinating technical cooperation and capacity-building events, producing guidance, and maintaining expert networks across governments, industry and research.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate workshops, training courses and other stakeholder-engagement capacity-building events
  • Serve as technical officer for national, regional and interregional technical-cooperation projects
  • Prepare reports on nuclear-sector stakeholder engagement, communication, education and community outreach
  • Develop guidance addressing emerging Member State needs and improving stakeholder-engagement strategies
  • Monitor Member State practices, implementation needs and operating experience and evaluate relevant data
  • Maintain an international network of nuclear-industry, government, research and communication experts
  • Coordinate stakeholder-engagement work across the Nuclear Energy Department and the wider Agency

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in communications, science or social science, or a bachelor’s degree in one of those fields with two additional years of relevant experience
  • At least seven years of experience in stakeholder engagement or nuclear communication, including at least five years at international level
  • Experience developing communication plans and campaigns
  • Experience organising and leading training courses, workshops and capacity-building events
  • Experience producing technical reports and official documents in English
  • Excellent oral and written command of English

Additional info

  • Fixed-term regular appointment for 36 months with a one-year probation period
  • Professional staff are subject to the IAEA rotation policy and a normal maximum seven-year tour
