Job Description
This consultancy strengthens UNFPA’s regional response to technology-facilitated gender-based violence, female genital mutilation and child, early and forced marriage. The consultant will monitor online discourse across South and Southeast Asia, refine DIOS analytics and keyword approaches, and turn findings on narratives, misinformation and pushback into reports, dashboards and actionable recommendations.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Develop an inception methodology, workplan and timeline for digital narrative monitoring
- Refine keywords, hashtags, lexicons and filtering approaches for TFGBV, FGM and CEFM discourse
- Monitor and collect social-media data across relevant digital platforms
- Analyse narratives, misinformation, key actors, reach, engagement and emerging trends
- Develop monitoring-platform analytics and displays using DIOS, EIOS and DHIS2
- Produce draft and final analytical reports, slide decks and actionable recommendations
- Present findings in regional webinars and coordinate with UNFPA, UNICEF and country-office focal points
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in information technology, information systems, computer science, communications, media studies, social sciences, public health, gender studies or a related field
- A first-level university degree plus two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced degree
- At least ten years of progressive experience in digital communications, social-media analysis, online-discourse monitoring or related fields
- Experience researching and analysing sensitive social issues
- English proficiency
