Job Description

Provides rapid information-management capacity for UNFPA Philippines emergency responses, processing population and needs data for operational decisions. The roster role develops gender-sensitive analysis, reporting networks, maps and real-time information systems to strengthen life-saving SRH and GBV assistance.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support planning, coordination and implementation of emergency-response assessments and reporting
  • Establish standards for information collection, exchange, security, attribution and use
  • Collect, georeference and analyse emergency-response data on a regular schedule
  • Develop disaggregated information products on affected populations and high-risk areas
  • Define user needs, priority datasets and formats that support field-level decisions
  • Build partnerships for sector surveys and strengthen national information-management capacity
  • Create maps and reports for decision-makers and inter-agency reporting networks
  • Integrate gender into assessments and improve real-time mobile information systems

Role Requirements

  • Relevant qualification or equivalent in geography, sociology, demography, statistics or another relevant field
  • At least five years of professional information-management and monitoring-data experience, reduced to three years for master's degree holders
  • Knowledge of humanitarian response and humanitarian data management
  • Knowledge of humanitarian reporting standards, cartographic presentation and geographic information system analysis
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Filipino

Desired Criteria

  • Master's degree in geography, sociology, demography, statistics or another relevant field
  • Experience defining and monitoring performance indicators
  • Experience monitoring and evaluating projects
  • Knowledge of local Philippine dialects relevant to the deployment duty station

  • Humanitarian Emergency Response roster membership may last up to six months and does not guarantee recruitment
  • Potential deployment locations include Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas and CARAGA Region
  • National UN Volunteer assignment via UNV for 181 days
  • Includes health, life and malicious-acts insurance and 2.5 days of annual leave per month
