Job Description

Transforms Nepal's provincial emergency obstetric and newborn care prioritization results into a national investment case. The consultancy consolidates and analyses facility data, costs the optimized network, estimates savings against the existing model, and produces a national report and scientific manuscript to guide government planning, budgeting, advocacy and evidence-based investment in maternal and newborn care.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Clean and consolidate data from national obstetric and newborn care prioritization exercises
  • Analyse provincial findings, accessibility results and investment implications
  • Develop the national prioritization and investment report
  • Design and apply a methodology for costing the prioritized facility network
  • Estimate potential savings against continued investment in the existing network
  • Build an evidence-based investment case for national and provincial planning
  • Prepare a scientific manuscript for submission to a peer-reviewed journal
  • Present preliminary findings and revise deliverables following technical feedback

Role Requirements

  • Advanced degree in health economics, public health, medicine or a related field
  • At least two years of relevant experience preparing national reports, conducting costing analysis, developing investment cases or contributing to publications
  • Strong analytical and mathematical capability
  • Familiarity with Nepal's health system, maternal-health programming and local governance structures
  • Excellent command of English and Nepali

Desired Criteria

  • Knowledge of UNFPA mandates and sexual and reproductive health programming
