Overview
Provides accurate, compliant financial services for UNFPA’s Nepal country office, supporting payments, advances, travel claims, partner disbursements and petty cash. The assistant maintains financial records, reconciliations and ERP reports, supports audits and works with UNDP and banks to ensure timely fund transfers.

Responsibilities
- Verify financial processes and records against UNFPA rules and internal controls
- Review payment requests and create invoices, prepayments and adjustment vouchers in the ERP
- Process cash advances, VAT records and timely settlements
- Register and process partner FACE forms and support finance training
- Review travel claims and ensure correct settlement and account charging
- Liaise with UNDP and banks on payments, receivables and fund transfers
- Maintain retrievable electronic financial files and prepare audit documentation
- Produce ERP reports, monitor dashboards and reconcile petty cash daily
Requirements
- Secondary education in finance, business administration, accountancy, public administration or a related field with five years of relevant experience, or bachelor’s degree with two years of relevant experience
- Relevant experience in finance including receivables, payables or general-ledger maintenance
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Google-based systems
- Fluency in spoken and written Nepali and English
