Job Description
Contributes to the final evaluation of UN Women Niger’s 2023–2027 country portfolio, assessing results for gender equality and women’s empowerment. Working with the senior evaluation consultant, the national consultant conducts contextual and stakeholder analysis, supports qualitative data collection and review, and develops evidence-based findings and reports to inform future strategy and programming.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Conduct contextual analysis and map evaluation stakeholders
- Support interview planning, focus groups and document review
- Collect, code and analyse qualitative evaluation data
- Contribute analytical notes and assigned evaluation-report sections
- Support development of data-collection tools and evaluation deliverables
- Coordinate with the international consultant on data processing and reporting
- Support stakeholder validation of preliminary evaluation findings
- Translate evaluation materials when required
Role Requirements
- Master’s degree in social sciences, sociology, demography, economics, law, project management, gender and human rights or a related discipline
- First university degree with two additional years of qualifying experience accepted instead of an advanced degree
- At least five years of relevant experience designing, monitoring and evaluating projects or programmes
- Expertise in qualitative and quantitative gender- and human-rights-sensitive evaluation methods
- Knowledge of Niger’s current context
- Strong written and oral French

- Experience evaluating a United Nations country-office strategic note
- Experience in fragile or conflict-affected settings
- Knowledge of United Nations systems and UN Women’s mandate
- Knowledge of English

- Requires intermittent presence at UN Women offices and possible travel to Niamey or elsewhere in Niger for inception or data collection
