Job Description

Supports UNESCO education programmes in Chad from N’Djamena by coordinating implementation, field monitoring, partner engagement and reporting. The assistant prepares workplans and activity terms, tracks contracts and budgets, supports evaluations and events, and helps communicate and document programme results.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Monitor implementation of education project activities with partners and stakeholders
  • Contribute to annual work plans, terms of reference and field activity follow-up
  • Prepare progress reports on education project implementation in UNESCO reporting systems
  • Support monitoring and evaluation of projects, partnership agreements, contracts and funds
  • Participate in meetings with field partners working in project activity areas
  • Support communication and visibility activities with stakeholders
  • Capitalise and disseminate education project and programme results
  • Coordinate documents, budget files, contracts and payment follow-up with administration

Role Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent in education, social sciences or an equivalent field
  • At least six years of professional experience designing, implementing or monitoring education and training projects or programmes
  • Very good knowledge of African education contexts and Chad's education system
  • French proficiency

Desired Criteria

  • Experience with office procedures in the UN system or a multicultural environment is desirable
  • Experience in UNESCO fields of competence is desirable
  • Knowledge of UN administrative and financial rules is an asset
  • Knowledge of SAP or a similar ERP is desirable
