Job Description

Manages and monitors UNICEF Bangladesh's construction and rehabilitation activities, including school infrastructure and health centres. The specialist prepares annual workplans, designs and technical documents, coordinates programmes and government counterparts, supports procurement, and supervises construction delivery so facilities meet quality, implementation and operational.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Prepare the construction annual workplan
  • Coordinate construction activities with UNICEF programmes, operations and government counterparts
  • Prepare designs and technical documents
  • Support construction procurement processes
  • Monitor construction projects and rehabilitation activities

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in civil engineering, architecture, construction engineering or a related area; a bachelor's degree plus two additional years of relevant experience may substitute
  • At least five years of relevant construction, project-management, site-supervision or quality-assurance experience
  • Fluent English
  • Nationals of Bangladesh are not eligible to apply

Desired Criteria

  • Humanitarian, emergency, sensitive-situation or UNICEF experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of another UN official language or a local language is an advantage
