Job Description
Provides UNECE with technical expertise on passive vehicle safety and global vehicle regulations. The engineer supports the Working Party on Passive Safety, evaluates national and global technical regulations, maintains official registries and prepares meetings and notifications. The role advances harmonised safer-vehicle standards and policy analysis to reduce road casualties.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Support GRSP in developing vehicle regulations and preparing technical working documents
- Liaise with Contracting Parties and participating organisations on passive-safety requirements
- Evaluate national vehicle regulations and global technical regulations
- Maintain the Compendium of Candidates and Global Registry
- Issue official notifications on regulatory changes and adoption processes
- Prepare WP.29 and Administrative Committee documentation and reports
- Support vehicle-safety policy analysis and capacity-building activities
Role Requirements
- Advanced degree in engineering, human factors or a related area; a first-level degree may be accepted with two additional qualifying years
- At least 5 years of professional experience in transport, mechanical or electrical engineering, automotive sector or related area
- Fluency in English

- Experience in policy formulation
- Experience servicing international meetings and drafting reports
