Job Description
Develop, procure, assemble, test and install innovative mechanical structures for the CMS High-Granularity Calorimeter. The engineer coordinates large-scale detector assembly and testing, integrates electromagnetic and hadronic cassettes, and provides engineering support for commissioning, applying finite element analysis, thermal and structural calculations, and 3D CAD expertise.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Coordinate assembly and testing of HGCAL steel structures
- Provide engineering support for active detector components
- Integrate electromagnetic and hadronic cassettes
- Support detector installation and commissioning
Role Requirements
- Master’s Degree or equivalent relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- Strong track record in planning and coordinating handling, assembly and testing of large mechanical structures
- Spoken and written English, with commitment to learn French
- National of a CERN Member State or Associate Member State
Desired Criteria
- Experience in multinational and multicultural engineering teams is an advantage
- ANSYS proficiency is a strong asset
