Job Description
Leads UNICEF’s global financial, budget, accounting and administrative management operations from New York. The Comptroller sets financial policy, internal controls and risk standards; guides resource planning and investment decisions; oversees DFAM; and advises executive leadership on financial performance and resilience.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Monitor UNICEF financial performance against global objectives and goals
- Develop and enforce financial, accounting, budgetary and administrative policies
- Establish internal controls, performance standards and safeguards for organisational assets
- Lead strategic risk management with senior management and regional offices
- Formulate financial plans, integrated budgets and liquidity policy
- Direct the Division of Financial and Administrative Management and advise senior leadership
- Oversee budget, investments, bank accounts, financial reporting and audit relations
- Lead global premises, fleet, travel, business continuity and contract review functions
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in finance, accounting, business administration or a related field and internationally recognised professional certification such as CPA, CA or ACCA
- First-level university degree in a similar field with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree
- At least 15 years of professional financial management experience at senior level in large organisations
- Fluency in English
Desired Criteria
- Knowledge of IPSAS, IFRS or GAAP is highly desirable
- Previous experience with the United Nations or international organisations in humanitarian or development contexts is an asset
- Knowledge of reporting implications of innovative and structured finance instruments is highly desirable
