Communications Specialist

The UN SDG Action Campaign seeks an International UN Volunteer Communications Specialist to lead advocacy and communications strategy and digital engagement. The volunteer will coordinate campaign communications, oversee media and multimedia products, strengthen social platforms and websites, supervise personnel, support partnerships and improve outreach around the Sustainable Development Goals.

• Develop and implement communications and advocacy strategies and digital workplans
• Lead communications for the UN SDG Action Awards and other campaign events
• Manage editorial planning, content calendars and campaign messaging
• Oversee multimedia, creative content and media outreach
• Oversee social-media growth, websites and digital project lifecycles
• Monitor digital performance metrics and report on effectiveness

• Communications, media studies, journalism, international relations, development or a related field
• Excellent drafting skills for articles, newsletters, web content, blogs and talking points
• Experience coordinating communications for high-level international events
• Experience in digital platforms and social-media management

• Digital community-building experience
• Donor relations and partner-engagement experience
• Knowledge of Sustainable Development Goals and international debates
