Job Description

Supports UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in Guyana to create communication products and digital campaigns that advance inclusive and sustainable human development. The online volunteer develops branding and materials for Model United Nations and UN Guyana anniversary events, supports a 16 Days of Activism campaign and performance analysis, and compiles a final report on activities and outputs.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support communication planning for the inaugural Model United Nations event
  • Develop Model United Nations branding and event products including table labels and screen backgrounds
  • Assist implementation of the communication plan for the UN Guyana 60th anniversary event
  • Develop digital campaigns for the 16 Days of Activism
  • Monitor and analyse digital-campaign performance metrics
  • Compile a final report that summarises assignment activities and outputs

Role Requirements

  • University degree, certificates or current studies in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, media studies, international relations, development studies, graphic design, film production or a related field
  • Experience in communications, digital media, journalism, public information, advocacy, social-media management, content creation or a related area
  • Experience producing and editing videos for social media, websites, campaigns or events
  • Experience drafting articles, news stories, press releases, reports or other communication products for diverse audiences
  • English

Desired Criteria

  • Experience supporting events, workshops, conferences or public-engagement activities
  • Previous experience with international organisations, non-governmental organisations, government institutions or development partners
  • Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, X and YouTube
  • Experience using graphic-design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Teams
