Job Description
The Media Communications Specialist advances UNDP's Bureau for Management Services communications and digital presence. Working with the Client Services Division, the role develops communication and social-media strategies, campaigns, newsletters and digital products; supports senior engagements; builds partnerships; and strengthens publication quality, branding and staff communications capacity.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Design and implement the Bureau for Management Services communication strategy
- Develop a microsite and newsletter to showcase operational initiatives
- Lead multi-channel thought-leadership campaigns and media outreach
- Prepare communications plans, talking points, speeches and press materials for senior engagements
- Manage social-media growth, campaign plans and online community content
- Analyze digital intelligence and social-media traffic to generate recommendations
- Provide communications coaching, training and quality control across BMS publications
Role Requirements
- Advanced degree in communications, journalism, information management, digital social media, public relations, graphic design or a related discipline, or bachelor's degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
- At least 7 years of progressive social-media management experience with a master's degree, or 9 years with a bachelor's degree
- Experience using web and online management systems
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat
- Photo editing and graphic or multimedia design experience
- Fluency in English
Desired Criteria
- Professional certifications in web and content management, digital collaboration, or data and process visualization tools
- Experience with UN or UNDP corporate policies and procedures
- Experience in a multilateral or international organization with diverse stakeholders
- Prior experience in development cooperation and multilateral organizations
- Experience forging creative-sector partnerships for international advocacy events
