Communication Officer

Supports UNICEF Ukraine communication and advocacy by gathering programme information and creating media, digital and campaign content about children affected by war. The UN Volunteer drafts and translates materials, documents perspectives using ethical storytelling and safeguarding, monitors media risks, supports events, and coordinates content with programme teams, partners and country office.

• Support implementation of UNICEF Ukraine’s communication and advocacy work plan and strategy
• Gather, verify and organize information on humanitarian, recovery and development programmes
• Draft and translate press releases, articles, stories, interviews, web content and social-media materials
• Support photographs, videos, factsheets, infographics, presentations and other communication products
• Monitor media coverage, public perception, misinformation and emerging communication risks
• Prepare campaign materials, media kits, country factsheets and report inputs

• Fluency in Ukrainian and English
• Excellent drafting, editing, formulation and reporting skills
• Knowledge of ethical storytelling, child safeguarding, informed consent, confidentiality, data protection and do-no-harm principles
• Solid computer literacy including Microsoft Office, email and internet applications

• Humanitarian, emergency response, recovery or development communications experience
• Experience working with UNICEF, the UN or another international development or humanitarian organization
