Child Protection Manager

The manager will lead UNICEF child protection and rights programming from planning through delivery, ensuring sustainable results for children’s protection, survival and well-being. Reporting to the Deputy Representative, the post provides managerial leadership, technical advice, programme quality control, advocacy, partnerships and capacity building for child-rights commitments.

• Manage and supervise child protection programmes and projects from strategic planning through delivery
• Establish plans of action and oversee progress against programme results
• Apply results-based management approaches to programme planning and delivery
• Provide advisory services and technical support on child protection and rights
• Lead advocacy, networking and partnership building
• Drive innovation, knowledge management and capacity building
• Provide managerial leadership for child protection programming

• Advanced university degree in international development, human rights, psychology, sociology, international law or another relevant social science field
• At least eight years of professional experience in social development planning and management in child protection and child rights
• Fluency in English

• Programme-development experience in child protection within a UN system agency or organisation
• Experience in development and humanitarian contexts
• Country-level experience in development, fragile settings and humanitarian contexts
