Job Description

Provides human-resources, finance and administrative support to the Income Tax Unit within the Department of Operational Support. The role maintains personnel and entitlement records, monitors expenditure and budget activity, processes travel and procurement actions, and coordinates with central and overseas service units to support payroll, income-tax and accounts-payable operations.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Process and monitor human-resources actions including recruitment, placement and performance appraisal
  • Maintain administrative records for attendance, performance appraisal and entitlements
  • Monitor expenditures and allotments and prepare budget tables and cost plans
  • Review requisitions to verify expenditure coding and fund availability
  • Prepare budget performance submissions and financial reports
  • Process staff travel arrangements and maintain administrative documentation
  • Coordinate with service units at Headquarters and overseas United Nations offices

Role Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Five years of experience in administrative services, finance, accounting, audit, human resources or a related area
  • At least one year of transactional finance experience including United States income-tax processing
  • Experience using ERP systems such as Umoja or SAP
  • English
  • Authorisation to work for the United Nations in the duty station

Desired Criteria

  • Experience with United Nations or large international-organisation systems and procedures
  • Experience with staff rules, entitlements and financial regulations
