Job Description
UNESCO’s Education Sector seeks an administrative assistant to provide specialised budgetary, financial and administrative support in Paris. The project appointment manages transactions, contracts, payment checks, reporting, records and liaison with central services, helping education projects maintain accurate financial control and timely operational delivery.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Assist with budgets, revisions, workplans and budgetary reports
- Verify financial transactions and reconcile budgetary data for expenditure recording and tracking
- Screen and process contracts, mission requests, conferences, meetings and other commitments
- Verify payment requests and process delegated contractual transactions
- Compile budgetary and financial updates, reports, statistics and projections
- Maintain project finance, contract and administrative records and support audit processing
- Liaise with central services to obtain information and clarification
Role Requirements
- Completed secondary, technical and/or vocational education
- At least five years of relevant professional experience in administrative-support tasks
- Experience in audit and accounting
- Excellent knowledge of English or French and good working knowledge of the other language
- Entitlement to work in France
Desired Criteria
- Experience in an international organisation
- Previous UNESCO experience and understanding of its administrative procedures and financial processes
- Knowledge of UNESCO rules, procedures and administrative practices
