Job Description

UNESCO seeks a Programme Assistant in Paris to support the Division of Priority Africa. The G-5 post assists the Director with office workflow and information management, coordinates meetings and events, prepares correspondence and reports, supports programme monitoring and budget review, maintains files and contractual records, and manages the Director's calendar, appointments and communications.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Attend meetings, prepare minutes and follow up action items
  • Coordinate conferences, events and outreach activities
  • Review briefing notes, reports and correspondence and ensure timely responses
  • Support programme activities, project evaluations, reporting and budget review
  • Maintain filing systems and manage contractual documents and payment tracking
  • Manage the Director's calendar, appointments and correspondence

Role Requirements

  • Completed secondary, technical or vocational school
  • At least 5 years of programme and administrative-support experience
  • Excellent oral and written English and French
  • Entitled to work in France
  • Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Desired Criteria

  • Training in administration or office management
  • Experience in the UN system or an international organisation
  • Knowledge of the Africa region
  • Knowledge of another UNESCO official language
