Job Description
This P-4 Special Assistant in New York supports the Director of DOS’s Division of Administration, which provides administrative and facility services at UN Headquarters. The role leads human-resources, budget and management actions; manages senior engagements; advises on OneEO policy; oversees support services and staff; and uses data visualisation to inform executive planning and decisions.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Coordinate recruitment, placement, performance appraisal, job-classification, separation and training actions under UN rules and procedures
- Lead preparation and implementation of work programmes and budgets, monitor allocations and recommend corrective measures
- Manage senior-official engagements and secure timely substantive and administrative support for internal and external interactions
- Implement and monitor procurement, travel, communications, engineering, information-technology and local-utility support services
- Advise the Director on OneEO management and Secretariat policies and prepare complex reports for senior-official review
- Analyse data and present graphs, charts, tables and reports to support management planning and decision-making
Role Requirements
- Advanced degree in business or public administration, finance, accounting, law or a related area, or a first-level degree with qualifying experience
- At least seven years of progressively responsible administration, management, executive-support and coordination experience in an international organisation
- Experience providing substantive and strategic advisory support to senior officials on sensitive and politically complex matters
- Experience liaising with UN Secretariat entities or a similar international organisation and external stakeholders
- Experience managing workflow systems, monitoring tools and cross-division coordination
- Experience supporting senior management front-office operations
- English at UN Language Framework Level II
Desired Criteria
- Completion of data analytics, business analytics or data science programmes
- Experience overseeing human-resources processes in the UN or a similar international organisation
- At least two years of data-analytics experience
