Overview

Analyzes complex UN budgetary, administrative and management proposals for the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions. The officer prepares briefings and intergovernmental reports, formulates evidence-based recommendations and supports formal Committee sessions.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze UN programme budgets, administrative policies and resource implications
  • Prepare briefing notes and technical advice for Committee executive sessions
  • Draft ACABQ reports, findings, conclusions and policy recommendations
  • Support formal intergovernmental and expert-body meetings and presentations
  • Coordinate policy analysis, research, budget documentation and office-improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in business or public administration, finance, accounting, law or a related field, or a first-level degree plus two additional years of relevant experience
  • Seven years of progressively responsible budgetary, administrative or financial-management experience
  • Two years drafting intergovernmental analytical documentation and policy recommendations
  • Experience with programme-budget analysis, UN or comparable administrative rules, and support to intergovernmental or expert bodies
  • English at UN Level II
