The Young Professional reviews project evidence, prepares risk summaries and site-visit materials, analyses implementation constraints, and collaborates with operational, legal and risk teams to escalate material issues and strengthen management accountability globally.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Support independent environmental and social reviews of selected operations
  • Prepare desk-review summaries of risks, implementation gaps and follow-up needs
  • Plan site visits through review questions, document requests and stakeholder meeting plans
  • Analyze documents, interviews, site observations and portfolio data for material risks
  • Prepare evidence-based mission notes, risk summaries and management report inputs
  • Engage with operations, legal, risk and management teams to validate and escalate findings

Role Requirements

  • Master's degree in environmental management, social development, sustainability, finance, economics, development studies, engineering, law, public policy or a related field
  • Two to six years of relevant professional experience in environmental and social risk management, development operations, infrastructure, safeguards or implementation support
  • Familiarity with internationally recognized environmental and social standards including the World Bank Environmental and Social Framework or IFC Performance Standards
  • Fluency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in emerging markets or Fragile, Conflict and Violence settings
  • Proficiency in other languages
