Summary of Responsibilities
- Review and refine proposed project activities against project objectives
- Integrate scientific and technical knowledge into project execution
- Coordinate communication with FAO teams, ministries and environmental authorities
- Prepare project-progress, implementation and final reports
- Address implementation challenges and incorporate stakeholder feedback
- Prepare the OPIM action plan to address HACT assessment weaknesses
- Contribute to GEF annual reporting and review partner terms of reference
- Organise steering-committee meetings and review technical deliverables
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in natural-resources management, climate change, policy or a closely related field
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in natural-resources management and climate-change adaptation
- Working knowledge of English and Arabic, written and spoken
- Nationality of Yemen or residence in Yemen with a valid work permit
Desired Criteria
- Technical background in environmental and climate-change policymaking or guidance
- Experience in climate-change mitigation technical activities
- Familiarity with UN or INGO systems, procedures and operational activities
- Experience in conflict-affected countries
