Job Description
UNDP’s Regional Bureau for Africa seeks a Technical Advisor to provide policy advice on planning, economic transformation, development finance, energy and trade. The advisor will analyze trends and data, prepare evidence-driven policy options, build partnerships and networks, strengthen country-office capacity, represent RBA in forums, and support African development strategies and SDG delivery.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Prepare evidence-driven analyses and policy options for government officials
- Review trends shaping national and regional development outcomes in Africa
- Develop position papers on geostrategic trends and SDG delivery
- Analyze economic, financial and environmental data for diagnostic tools
- Lead regional expert networks supporting country-office development planning
- Build partnerships with research and policy institutions
Role Requirements
- Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree plus two additional years of qualifying experience
- At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in project management, coordination or capacity-building implementation
- Experience with African regional institutions, including the African Union or Regional Economic Communities
- Fluency in English
Desired Criteria
- Experience collaborating with UN agencies, governments, NGOs and public international organizations
- Knowledge of capacity-building theory and assessment methodologies
- Experience advising senior management on programme management
