Job Description
Economist provides economic analysis and policy advice to the United Nations Resident Coordinator Office in Algiers. The role examines sustainable development, macroeconomic trends and SDG financing; prepares policy and programming inputs; supports partnerships with government, financial institutions and civil society; and strengthens country planning, financing solutions and knowledge sharing.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Analyze economic, social and sustainable-development data
- Prepare policy advice and analytical products on economic transformation and SDG financing
- Support SDG financing initiatives and integrated country analysis
- Engage government, international financial institutions and development partners
- Contribute economic inputs to the Cooperation Framework and joint programmes
- Document good practices and facilitate knowledge sharing
Role Requirements
- Advanced university degree in Economics
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in economic research, analysis, policy or development economics
- Experience translating development trends and data into policy options or analytical products
- Fluency in French and Arabic
- Algerian nationality
Desired Criteria
- Data analytics, business analytics or data-science training
- SDG financing, development finance, public finance or innovative financing experience
- Experience with government institutions and development partners
- Experience in UN inter-agency coordination
- Experience in data analytics
