Contributes to the World Bank's Fiscal Policy and Growth work in Mozambique, combining macroeconomic and fiscal analysis with lending operations, policy dialogue and technical assistance. Summary of Responsibilities

  • Contribute to macroeconomic and fiscal advisory services, analytics and lending operations
  • Collect, validate and maintain economic, fiscal, debt and socioeconomic data for Mozambique
  • Prepare medium-term macroeconomic projections using economic and financial models
  • Develop macroeconomic, public-finance, growth and debt-sustainability knowledge products
  • Support financing operations, policy actions and technical assistance for government reforms
  • Contribute to policy dialogue on macro-fiscal policy, domestic revenue mobilisation and structural transformation
  • Build partnerships and disseminate World Bank knowledge products to government and development stakeholders

Role Requirements

  • Master's degree in economics or a closely related field and at least 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Solid background in macroeconomic modelling, fiscal analysis and applied economic policy analysis
  • Knowledge of Mozambique's development challenges and policy priorities
  • Ability to analyse macroeconomic, fiscal, debt, external-sector and socioeconomic datasets
  • Excellent analytical, drafting and communication skills in English and Portuguese
  • Fluency in English and Portuguese

Desired Criteria

  • PhD in economics or a closely related field
  • Experience with World Bank financing operations or similar multilateral operations
