Supports the World Bank Group Economic Policy Global Practice through macroeconomic, fiscal and development-policy analysis. The Young Professional maintains evidence and analytical tools, prepares policy and evaluation products, and works with country teams, government counterparts and partners to improve evidence-based decisions, development effectiveness and institutional learning.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Conduct macroeconomic monitoring and analysis of fiscal policy, growth and development issues
  • Contribute to evaluations and assessments of World Bank Group strategies and operations
  • Maintain country economic databases, forecasting models and analytical tools
  • Prepare analytical reports, policy notes, evaluation findings and presentations
  • Participate in technical meetings and missions with government and development partners
  • Synthesize evidence to support recommendations that improve development impact

Role Requirements

  • Master's degree in economics or a closely related field with specialization in macroeconomics, fiscal policy, public finance, development economics, economic policy, jobs, poverty and equity or related disciplines
  • Two to six years of relevant professional experience in economic analysis, public policy, development research, evaluation or related fields
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills including economic data, statistical analysis, economic modeling and evidence-based research
  • Fluency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Experience contributing to analytical, operational, research or evaluation work in international development
  • Experience in Fragile, Conflict and Violence settings
