Job Description

The Investment Specialist supports UNCDF investment readiness and pipeline development in Accra. The role sources and assesses MSMEs and financial partners, conducts due diligence, provides technical assistance on bankability and financial structuring, connects investees with financiers, coordinates investment events, and tracks results to expand inclusive SME finance and private capital in Ghana.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Develop MSME and partner investment pipelines
  • Screen partners and conduct due diligence
  • Design technical assistance for investment readiness
  • Prepare investment cases and financial models
  • Engage financial institutions and ecosystem partners
  • Track results, learning and knowledge products

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
  • At least 5 years of banking, financial-services, development-finance, impact-investing, investment-readiness or SME-finance experience
  • Experience in MSME finance, investment readiness, development finance or private-sector development
  • Fluency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Blended-finance or investment-facilitation exposure
  • Ghanaian financial ecosystem experience
  • Knowledge of Ghana MSME policy and regulatory environment
  • UN entity or UN-funded programme experience
