Job Description
UNDP BIOFIN seeks a Project Specialist to build a private-sector pipeline of investable nature-finance projects. The home-based role provides global technical leadership to country teams, develops investment frameworks and blended-finance approaches, engages investors and partners, and designs a matchmaking platform to scale nature-positive investment opportunities.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Develop investment frameworks, templates and criteria for nature-positive project pipelines
- Advise country teams on project sourcing, pre-feasibility analysis and blended-finance structuring
- Develop enabling-environment guidance for private investment in nature finance
- Design national private-sector working groups and engagement approaches
- Analyze investment appetite, de-risking mechanisms and financial disbursement chains
- Design the initial concept and roadmap for an investment matchmaking platform
- Deliver capacity-building workshops and disseminate lessons from pilot countries
Role Requirements
- Advanced degree in management, finance, economics or a related field, or a bachelor's degree with two additional years of qualifying experience
- At least 5 years of relevant finance-sector, development-bank, private-equity or impact-investment experience with a master's degree, or 7 years with a bachelor's degree
- Private-sector experience in a corporate, private financial institution or development finance institution
- Experience managing relationships with investors and financiers
- Experience developing pipelines of bankable projects in developing countries
- Fluency in English
Desired Criteria
- Experience with UNDP or another international organization
- Experience designing investable projects in agriculture, forestry, tourism, fisheries or water
- Experience establishing multi-partner or blended-finance facilities or transactions
- Knowledge of French or Spanish
- Professional finance licence such as CFA or equivalent
