Job Description

Supports the Transportation and Life Support Service within the United Nations procurement function. The role processes procurement and e-tendering transactions, assists customs clearance and shipment arrangements, maintains files and databases, prepares correspondence and reports, and provides administrative and logistics support for the Service’s procurement activities and meetings.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Conduct low-value procurement exercises and process procurement transactions through SAP
  • Process solicitations through the Procurement Division e-tendering system
  • Assist colleagues with procurement exercises and customs-tax exemptions
  • Facilitate customs clearance for United Nations shipments imported into the United States
  • Draft routine correspondence and prepare reports and reference material
  • Maintain procurement files, databases and distribution lists
  • Provide administrative and logistics support for meetings and conferences

Role Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in general office support or administrative work
  • English
  • Authorisation to work for the United Nations in the duty station
