Job Description

Leads country-office supply chain operations in Bogotá, combining strategic planning, market analysis, procurement, warehousing, transport, asset and facilities management. The role strengthens controls and vendor management, supports programme tendering, develops supply-chain staff, and coordinates with UN partners to deliver timely, quality goods and services to beneficiaries.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Plan strategic supply-chain activities with country-office stakeholders and relevant headquarters units
  • Assess logistics capacity and local markets, analysing commodity trends, production patterns and availability
  • Coordinate planning, budgeting, scheduling and provision of goods and services for the country office
  • Manage procurement, warehousing, transport, distribution, fleet, assets, facilities and logistics information activities
  • Run fair tendering and supplier-selection processes, including bids, purchase orders and delegated-authority checks
  • Strengthen SCM internal controls, maintenance arrangements and reporting across the country office
  • Train and guide supply-chain staff while monitoring their professional development
  • Represent the office in UN inter-agency SCM meetings and resource-sharing initiatives

Role Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement or a related field with two years of relevant professional experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in those fields with four years of relevant experience
  • Experience managing diverse procurement and logistics operations
  • Demonstrated experience training and supervising teams and managing vendors and suppliers
  • Fluency in English and Spanish

Desired Criteria

  • Knowledge of IOM or UN procurement and financial rules
  • Computer literacy and knowledge of Oracle
  • Leadership, management and coordination capacity
  • Ability to analyse information and resolve operational problems
