Job Description

Oversees IOM DRC supply-chain operations so country-office programmes receive quality goods and services on time and at optimal cost. The role leads planning, procurement, warehousing, transport, asset and facilities management, strengthens internal controls and vendor performance, guides supply-chain personnel, and represents the office in UN supply-chain coordination.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Plan country-office supply-chain activities with internal, external and headquarters stakeholders
  • Assess logistics capacity and local markets, analysing commodity, production and service-availability data
  • Lead procurement, warehousing, transport, fleet, asset and facilities-management activities
  • Review procurement requests, evaluate vendor performance and maintain qualified supplier pools
  • Run bidding and tender processes, evaluate offers and oversee purchase-order processing
  • Establish internal controls that protect organisational assets and prevent fraud
  • Train and supervise supply-chain staff and represent the country office in UN supply-chain forums

Role Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Procurement, or a related field with five years of relevant professional experience; or a university degree in those fields with seven years of relevant professional experience
  • Fluency in English (oral and written)

Desired Criteria

  • Working knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage
