Job Description

Manages supply-chain delivery for IOM’s Farchana Sub-Office, coordinating planning, procurement, warehousing, transport, assets and facilities so beneficiaries receive goods and services on time. The role analyzes markets and logistics capacity, runs compliant tendering and vendor processes, strengthens internal controls, trains staff, and represents IOM in inter-agency supply-chain coordination.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Contribute to strategic planning of sub-office supply-chain activities with country and headquarters stakeholders
  • Assess logistics capacity and markets and analyse commodity, production and availability data
  • Coordinate supply-chain planning, budgeting, scheduling and reporting
  • Manage procurement, warehousing, transport, distribution, fleet, assets and facilities activities
  • Identify bottlenecks and improve processes to deliver goods and services efficiently
  • Evaluate vendors, run tenders and prepare purchase orders in line with delegation-of-authority requirements
  • Maintain internal controls and country-specific procedures that safeguard organizational assets
  • Train supply-chain staff and engage in UN inter-agency supply-chain forums

Role Requirements

  • Master’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, procurement or a related field with two years of relevant professional experience, or a university degree in those fields with four years
  • Fluency in English and French
  • Experience managing procurement and logistics operations in a hardship post or conflict high-volume area
  • Demonstrated experience training and supervising teams and managing vendors and suppliers

Desired Criteria

  • Experience managing supply-chain teams in hardship and L3 operations
  • Knowledge of IOM and UN procurement and financial rules and processes
  • Good knowledge of Oracle
