Job Description

Provides strategic policy, coordination and substantive support to the Chief of Staff in the Office of the Executive Director. The role connects senior engagements with Member States, UN entities and partners, prepares high-level materials, tracks decisions and deadlines, and identifies organisational bottlenecks so executive priorities, reforms and partnerships deliver measurable results.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Coordinate senior-level engagements and collaborations with Member States, UN entities and other partners
  • Analyse policies and frameworks and monitor follow-up actions from senior-management discussions
  • Forecast deadlines and deliverables and assess their implications for UNFPA’s mandate
  • Prepare high-level internal and external meetings and follow up on decisions and actions
  • Develop briefing materials, correspondence, annual work plans and office-management reports
  • Identify institutional bottlenecks and lessons learned for work-plan implementation
  • Support high-level policy discussions and internal and external consultations
  • Connect the Executive Office with organisational business units and propose solutions

Role Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in international relations, international development, public administration, business, management or a related field
  • At least seven years of progressively responsible relevant experience in strategic coordination, partnerships, advocacy and communication, including five years at international level
  • Fluency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Experience supporting senior-level engagements and coordinating with Member States, UN entities and partners
  • Working knowledge of a second UN language
