Job Description

UNFPA seeks a national Programme Analyst for public policy and participation under its Cuba country programme. The role advances sexual and reproductive health through policy design, programme delivery, partner coordination, monitoring and advocacy. It requires a relevant master’s degree, progressive programme or research experience, fluent Spanish and working English.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Analyze political, socio-economic, population and health contexts for UNFPA interventions
  • Design sexual and reproductive health and population-and-development projects
  • Guide programme implementation, delivery and coordination meetings
  • Monitor programme bottlenecks, expenditures and disbursements
  • Engage strategic partners, consultants and national counterparts
  • Support research, evidence-based advocacy and resource mobilization

Role Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social sciences, law, public policy, public administration or a related field
  • Progressively relevant experience in project coordination or research within UNFPA mandate areas
  • Specialized knowledge of development policies and population-related activities
  • Advanced computer skills
  • Fluency in Spanish
  • Working knowledge of English

Desired Criteria

  • UN-system experience in planning, implementation and reporting
  • Professional experience representing an organization
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
