Statistician

Undertakes statistical and actuarial analysis for the UN Joint Staff Pension Fund's Data Analysis Unit in New York. The Statistician develops and manages data collections and databases, evaluates economic and financial information, and produces visual analyses and technical reports. • Design and carry out statistical-data collection, evaluation, analysis and dissemination
• Develop, implement and manage statistical databases
• Provide research and technical support on country-level economic and financial data
• Produce graphs, charts, tables and reports for data-driven decision-making
• Research and revise statistical standards, concepts, definitions and classifications
• Prepare technical documents for Pension Board and expert-group meetings

• Advanced degree in statistics, actuarial science, data science, mathematics, economics or a related field
• A first-level degree with qualifying experience may substitute for an advanced degree
• At least five years of progressively responsible experience collecting, compiling, analysing and disseminating statistical or economic data
• Advanced Excel and proficient Power BI, Word and PowerPoint use
• English at UN Level III

• Defined-benefit pension-fund experience is desirable
• Actuarial-function experience is desirable
