Job Description

Deliver IOM Qatar staff-welfare services for personnel and dependants, combining individual and group counselling with crisis response and referral support. The consultant builds prevention capacity through wellbeing training and manager consultation, advances psychosocial-risk action, upholds UN Staff Counsellor ethics, and monitors service delivery through reporting and recommendations.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Provide confidential individual and group psychological counselling to staff members and dependants
  • Deliver psychological support after critical incidents and emergencies
  • Liaise with mental-health resources and arrange crisis referrals
  • Train staff and managers on stress management, wellbeing and supportive working environments
  • Facilitate action on workplace psychosocial-risk assessment findings
  • Ensure professional standards, reporting and administrative duties

Role Requirements

  • Master’s degree in clinical psychology, counselling, psychiatry or a related field with two years of relevant professional experience, or a university degree in those fields with four years
  • Active licence, certification or registered membership in a legitimate relevant professional organisation
  • Minimum four years of relevant counselling experience after licensure, certification or registration
  • Fluency in English

Desired Criteria

  • Experience in an international or humanitarian organisation
  • Experience with counselling and psychosocial interventions
  • Experience with UN agencies, humanitarian organisations or Employee Assistance Programmes
  • Familiarity with the wellbeing impact of humanitarian working conditions
