Job Description

The Physiotherapy Assistant Nurse provides clinical support at the United Nations Health Care Center in Addis Ababa. The individual contractor registers patients, schedules treatment, assists supervised rehabilitation, monitors progress and documents care. The role maintains equipment and confidentiality, educates patients and caregivers, and coordinates with the physiotherapy and nursing teams.

Summary of Responsibilities

  • Register patients requesting physiotherapy services in electronic medical records
  • Schedule physiotherapy sessions and send appointment reminders to clients
  • Assist physiotherapists with treatments, rehabilitation programmes and supervised heat, cold, massage, stretching and exercise interventions
  • Monitor vital signs and range of motion while documenting treatment progress and adverse events
  • Prepare treatment equipment and educate patients and caregivers on home exercises and assistive devices
  • Coordinate with healthcare teams and maintain confidentiality of patients’ medical conditions

Role Requirements

  • Diploma in clinical nursing
  • Minimum four years of experience as a nurse including two years in a physiotherapy centre
  • Fluency in oral and written English

Desired Criteria

  • Additional training in Physiotherapy
  • Knowledge of another official United Nations language
