Supports UNECA’s Sustainable Development and Integrated Planning Section in Addis Ababa with analysis, policy advice and technical cooperation on sustainable development, urban development and planning. The officer researches trends, develops indicators and methodologies, liaises with governments and partners, prepares reports and intergovernmental support, organizes expert meetings and.

• Analyse sustainable development planning and urban development issues
• Develop indicators and methodologies for review and evaluation
• Liaise with governments and UN-system organisations on policy issues
• Prepare reports studies briefings and intergovernmental inputs
• Organize expert meetings and technical training
• Monitor technical-cooperation programmes and mobilise resources

• Advanced degree in international development development planning urban planning economics sociology or social science
• At least five years in development planning urban development sustainable development socio-economic development policy analysis or related areas
• Fluency in one working language of the UN Secretariat
