Job Description
Strengthens IATA's representation of the airline industry before European Union institutions from its Brussels office. The role builds senior policy relationships, develops and advances industry positions, analyses EU regulatory proposals, and coordinates advocacy on sustainability, trade, customs, drone and digital-policy issues with European colleagues across the European aviation sector.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Build working relationships with decision makers in the European Parliament, Council and Commission
- Maintain two-way communication with policy makers to convey IATA views and industry facts
- Develop IATA policy positions and advance policy asks among key decision makers
- Analyse EU policy proposals, trends and regulatory processes affecting the airline industry
- Coordinate with Brussels, Geneva and Madrid teams under the Director of European Affairs
- Cover policy issues including sustainability, customs and trade, drones and digital policy
Role Requirements
- University degree in law, economics, political science, international relations, or politics and economics
- Thorough knowledge of European Union institutions' decision-making processes
- Ability to create and maintain a network of contacts in European Union institutions
- At least five years of experience in an airline, association, air-transport regulator, EU institution, external affairs or corporate advocacy
- Excellent written and spoken English

- Existing network of contacts in European Union institutions
- Knowledge and experience in aviation decarbonisation, climate, noise reduction, customs reform or biometrics
- Strong interpersonal and networking skills in a multicultural environment
- Strong team spirit
