Job Description
Leads ECA's Natural Resources and Food Systems Section, shaping strategies on natural-resource governance, agri-food transformation and climate resilience. The role directs research, policy advice and project delivery, manages people and resources, and represents the division with governments, development partners and intergovernmental bodies across Africa today.

Summary of Responsibilities
- Provide policy guidance on natural resources governance and agri-food system transformation strategies
- Oversee the Section's work programme, projects and timely delivery of substantive outputs
- Prepare position papers and reports for intergovernmental and policy-making bodies
- Set priorities and allocate resources for the Division's work programme and results-based budgeting
- Manage staff recruitment, performance, development and training
- Represent ECA at inter-agency, regional and national meetings on climate-change issues
- Establish research programmes that strengthen policymaker capacity on climate-change policy
- Oversee research on policy, legal and regulatory frameworks for climate resilience
Role Requirements
- Advanced degree in economics, natural resources management, food policy, law, international development, development studies, natural or social sciences, or a bachelor's degree in these fields with two additional years of relevant experience
- At least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in natural resources governance or agri-food system transformation and sustainable development
- Professional experience gained through research, policy, practice and related advisory services at national, regional and international levels
- Fluency in English or French
